Last week I got to add the amazing Canon 85mm f1.2 II USM to my arsenal of primes and wow am I already impressed!
Before I owned this I used the Canon 85mm f1.8 which is an amazing lens for the price, but after renting the 1.2 I just couldn't get over that beautiful bokeh and amazing shallow depth of field. Other differences are the weight, with the 1.8 weighing a dainty 425g compared to the 1.2's 1025g, so I'll need to build some muscles to carry this baby but I think it's totally worth it.
Another downside to the weight is of course is the hefty price tag, but as I know I'll be using it in almost every shoot, I can justify the cost... well that's what I'm telling myself anyway! My go-to for buying camera gear in Berlin is Probis, as the guys are really friendly and know their stuff so make sure to check them out if you fancy treating yourself :)
This lens will really come into its own for portrait shoots because of that amazing shallow depth of field but for now, enjoy some sunny photos of Berlin!
